The Noctivagent label hosted a listening party today for their dark ambient artist Lulu Rosenkrantz's latest Der Tod Ist Groß (Death Is Great) album. Currently, the only track available is Und wir sind die Seinen (and We Are His). The full album drops on September 22.
Quoting from the Bandcamp description:
"The title of the album is based on a poem by the German Lyricist Rainer Maria Rilke. The album's spoken words come from the collections of Merseburg magic spells, passages from the book Simplicissimus and a small number of self-written poems."
On a first listen, I think there are a few tracks that really stick in my mind. The album is definitely dark and brooding, and while there are elements of the dungeon and doomwave genre, it doesn't drone as dark ambient is known for, it has some catchy melodies.
CD copies are limited to just 50 so be sure to get them while you can!
