Jay Reiter and I grew up around the same time when we went through similar music experiences. The Skull Fuckers Incorporated name is clearly influenced by NIN's "Star Fuckers" single. We've also turned into cat people we never thought we would be. Check out the interview at the bottom of this page as we go down memory lane. Let me tell you about this album first!
Skull Fuckers Incorporated "Self-Titled"
The opening track is hilarious. I can only assume the dialogue is from a film but can't figure out what. The sound work on this album is phenomenal. Metal music fascinates me when it comes to mixing and producing. That's a completely different animal. While "Pain" gets us there, "Nightmare" is the hit that hits hard. Also, look at the lineup that's in the music video. From Tom Arnold to Dee Snider? I mean, come on!
Jay and I do talk about our music experiences and one of them, I didn't bring up was seeing SlipKnot during their first tour. Even then I thought about the stamina those musicians have to keep a band like that going. Saw them last year and they were still going, given that they're not all the original bandmates, and Corey is doing vocals, charging up the crowd like a pro wrestler. Jay and his boys are doing this album now, years in the making where they can do it right. The energy, the intensity, and the brutality captured all at the right time!
Who knew that we needed a cover of Manson's "The Beautiful People"? Another thing I didn't mention because there wasn't time; saw Manson when they toured their first album and the chicken was let loose in the crowd. It did NOT get stomped on despite what the tabloids said. I've also got a bootleg of a show from that tour that I'll post here eventually. What I'm saying is this is taking me back. I mean, let's also acknowledge the treatment Skull Fuckers Inc gives to White Zombie's "More Human Than Human" and, speaking of NIN, they do a tight cover of "Wish"! These guys aren't fucking around! We discuss that in our interview too.
We'll get back to this but first...

For me, the standout track is "Soloscum" with the organ because it reminds me of Rozz-era Christian Death. Yes, I'm making these connections but that's the entire point to this project because Jay has two more of these albums planned out. They all have to do with certain periods of growth and discovery over the decades. Jay is also a film guy, which I am as well, and the reason both mediums are combined is because, in our view, you can't have one without the other. Jay certainly won't. He's got a web series coming up that's a snapshot of the period this album takes place in. You'll learn more about it in our interview below. This album is solid through and through. Blast this one for you metalhead folks at home and see if they don't give this a pass. We'd really love to know! Tell us in the comments!
