Fake Fake Wake Up From "Goodnightmare"

Fake Fake Wake Up From

Justin Campbell and Leith Hynds makeup Fake Fake and debut their first collaborative single today, "Goodnightmare".

The song title could sound to some people like a children's book about saying goodnight to a horse, but this is actually about enjoying your nightmares.

"Goodnightmare" is for those who have woken from one with a thumbs up!

These guys admit that they're big fans of pop music which you can hear in this track.

Even so, they say that they approach their songwriting like rival siblings, in order to showcase the dynamic in the music.

Here are the lyrics for you to sing along:

Feeling down you’ve been gone and I need it
You can leave just don’t leave me for long
No reply for the night, I’m defeated
I’m such a mess, I just can’t sleep alone

All of us need a crutch for a lover
Be my bad day chaperone
Coming clean, we’ve been deep undercover
Crying fee-fi-forever alone

I’ve been feeling down since you said goodnight
It’s such a good nightmare every time

Now I read like a cheap fiction romance
Talk me out of all these bad cliches
I might drown in this five dollar film bin
Staying home with Hugh on Saturdays

I think I want but I need it

I’ve been feeling down since you said goodnight
It’s such a good nightmare every time

I need you
I don’t want to
I think I want but I need it

I’ve been feeling down since you said goodnight
It’s such a good nightmare every time
We don’t play it cool, we don’t even try
It’s such a good nightmare every time

Is Fake Fake Faking Their Sadism?

After reading those lyrics, it's clear that they don't want to be abandoned.

At the same time, they seem to enjoy it when they are.

Are they even abandoned by that person anyway?

When singing, "It's such a good nightmare every time," it's likely it's only temporary.

No wonder they seem to like the "nightmare" as there's no real consequence?
