HIGHLIGHTS
Jim Smith AKA TEEEL has taken the hybrid road of synthwave a metal with his Phenomenon release, apparently tracks that he's held on for a while in an attempt to take a different musical direction.
"PHENOMENON"
This is the newest track on this release about extraterrestrials being sick of human bullshit and are coming to destroy Earth.
"CHERNOBYL YETI"
This track says it all.
Imagine a radioactive monster being born from the radiation polluting Chernobyl.
In a way, it's another way of protraying how disasterous humanity is to this planet and even more the reason why the aliens should hurry up and put an end to us all.
"LESLIE'S REVENGE"
Smith says that this track was inspired by the movie Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon.
Check out the trailer which is full of pretty big names like Robert England (Freddy Kruger), Zelda Rubinstein (Telgina of Poltergeist fame), and Scott Wilson (Hershel Greene of The Walking Dead.)
He points out that the track was originally part the 'THEMES' compilation released by his Synth Records label but like "Chernobyl Yeti" and "Mach Rider" got the 2020 update for this release.
Check out the original "Leslie's Revenge".
"MACH RIDER"
Like "Chernobyl Yeti", "Mach Rider" was also featured on a compilation by Electric Dream Records called Dream Electric Compilation which was and is only available as a physical release, specifically on Double Vinyl which has long since sold out.
"2020 VISION"
This track is the most sinister sounding of them all, especially knowing how 2020 turned out to be.
