Boris Johnson's "Coup" of British Parliament

Boris Johnson's

Opposing members in the British parliament of right-wing Prime Minister Boris Johnson are outraged at what they refer to as a "coup".

Rather than give his opposition a chance to derail his plans to take Britain out of the European Union, aka Brexit, Johnson has suspended legislation at the House of Commons for a month before the Brexit deadline of Oct. 31.

Members of parliament will, therefore, have no time to legislate against Brexit before the set deadline.

John McDonnell, the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer said:

"Make no mistake, this is a very British coup."

Boris Johnson has been adamant about leaving the EU deal or no deal. His suspension forces parliament into the latter.

Here is the leader of the opposition Labour Party responding to Boris Johnson's suspension.
