Now that it's public knowledge that Kyle Rittenhouse has been acquitted, was it any surprise that that would be the verdict?
We already saw that where the trial was headed when the judge lambasted the prosecutor on public TV.
We also learned at the same time why. Because the prosecutor brought up some details that the judge had already thrown out. In fact, some very important details that might have changed the jury's outlook.
Again, it was the jury who determined the final verdict and as to why, is not important right now.
What's important to take from this is that it's one step closer to weaponizing a political group who means to do the rest of us harm, the Trump-owned GOP.
From day to day, we see right-wing politicians defend the actions of those who commit political violence against their opponents.
Just this week, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL.) publicly offered Rittenhouse a job, even before the verdict. It's obvious in this case that Gaetz made the offer in public to say that commiting political violence is a great addition to one's resume to work in his office.
This is also the same week that Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ.) was censured over an altered video which depicted him killing another member of Congress, a Democrat.
While it did remove him from his committees, it only caused him to double-down, retweeting the video again. Also, the head of the GOP, MacCarthy said that Democrats were over reacting and should Republicans take power again, he would reinstate those Reps to their committees.
That includes another violent extremist, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA.), who was also reprimanded earlier this year for similar reasons. Needless to say, those two, along with Gaetz, are under McCarthy's leadership in Congress.
The beginning of this phase of political violence is with the January 6th insurrection which resulted in some deaths at the U.S. Capitol. Those who are being charged for some of the worse offenses are being hailed as heroes by members of the GOP, which makes it clear as day again and again that they political violence as acceptable.
What more proof do you need to see that unless we allow ourselves to be executed, that we're unwillingly being dragged into a civil war?
