it was 1986 when Crash Harmony formed made up for Yale students. They played live shows until 1988 and hadn’t played together again until 2022. Nils Nadeau says:
"Orange Background' is a letter from our college selves to our grown selves and also, in a way, from Generation X to what we have now in the world. It’s also the only one, played back, that might have made me wet-eyed for a minute"
They say as much that "Orange Background" is one of their earliest songs which makes sense why Nils would be so emotional to hear it. Now as seasoned musicians, this is the best they've ever sounded.
