After reading The Hidden Life Of Trees by Peter Wohlleben, Divisions presented itself to me.

There is also an abridged, illustrated version of the first book.
It felt deeply tribal, with the urgency of the sound of things dissolving at the moment of collapse. “Twisting on the brink of what’s to happen”. I participate in and co-produce an international performance series called Bushwick Book Club, where we write songs inspired by books every month.

While my songs reflect aspects of each book, they connect with all kinds of things that pollinate each writing experience, creating layers of meaning. The themes of transcendence and the illusion of separateness emerged over the past year or so and, combined with a desire to revisit all the musical threads that have woven together in my life, snowballed into a thirst to see these songs come to life as widescreen musical productions.
Divisions
There are no divisions between things about to collapse
We are just collisions of every firing synapse Is anything still missing?
Life looks just like these
The fruits of the forbidden,
The hidden life of trees
Twisting
On the brink of what's to happen
A silver note
Sings out across the ocean
Like trees
We breathe in syncopation
Why can't we see
Where there are no divisions
There are no divisions between things about to collide
I am just a projection of all you are inside
Now we're lashed together in lives that look like these
The fruits of our forever,
The hidden life of trees
Twisting
On the brink of what's to happen
A silver note
Sings out across the ocean
Like trees
We breathe in syncopation
Why can't we see
That there are no divisions
We always fight
For what we have protected
The space we fill
Where our branches are directed
The life you have
So carefully selected Is it really yours?
Our roots are all connected
